Long overdue recipes!

Hi all
It has been a while since I posted some dinner ideas, so here are two for you to try! Both are very easy and very tasty.

Oriental Marinated Beef (recipe stolen from my mom)

You will need:
- marinating steak (cheap cut of meat, don't worry, we will make it tasty!) Buy enough for two or so people
- Soy sauce
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Brown Sugar

To start with, grab a large ziplock bag. Into the bag put: three or four cloves of garlic (roughly chopped), a large piece of ginger (roughly chopped), a few tablespoons of brown sugar and a enough soy sauce to cover the meat. I sometimes put a splash of water in with the soy to cut back on the salt content, but you don't have to.

Now that your marinade is in the bag, add your meat and put it in the fridge for at least 24 hours. I put the bag into a container to contain any leakage that might occur.

To cook, you can either sear it on both sides in a hot pan and then put it into the oven to finish cooking, or you can BBQ it. It is pretty darn tasty on the BBQ. Take the meat out of the marinade - you are done with it - and cook away. Make sure there is no ginger or garlic on the meat, it will just burn and has already done its job. Don't reuse the marinade either, just toss it.

To serve, slice thinly across the grain of the meat and enjoy! I serve this with rice and some sort of veggie dish. I will post an easy veggie dish next.
